Urban Resilience Corporation was newly established in 2014 when International Olympic Commission decided in the year before to have the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo and the economy in Japan started booming by the “Abeno-mics”.
In recent years, the steep population increase and the rapid economic in Asia, Africa and Latin America have resulted in rapid urbanization and excessive development, accelerating environmental degradation and global warming.
In Japan birth rates have decreasing and aging population has been increasing. The Japanese post-war baby boomers who were the basis of the Japanese economy have turned to be over 70 years old and the decrease in working population has been accelerated. The massive retirement of the post-war baby boomers has made it difficult to sufficiently take over the experiences and know how in the governments and industries.
We have been committed to improving urban environment in the developing countries and mitigating global warming based on the integrated knowledge, experience and technology. We will fully utilize baby boomer’s experiences, and our domestic and overseas technology and information in environmental protection and water supply to support central and local governments, utilities and industries in developing countries and in Japan to make plans and policies, design, operate and maintain facilities and services. Our rich international experiences and language skills will also support meetings and conferences with developing countries.
